I have a Jo and can kind of use it. My kobutan is somewhere but Im not good at all at using that. Will hopefully be purchasing a bokken sooon.

i too have a bokken as well as a crappy stainless steel daisho. (sarcasm)and since i seen them use katana in movie and stuff i'm an expert (sarcasm)
thinking of setting up an iaido club or something you interested?

I may be. Weapons fighting does interest me but I am terrible at it. I would most likely take part in some classes though.

i'm going to email john gibney(he does classes in ucd or dcu can't remember which) i just need a bunch of people who are interested so spread the word.

Hmph, weapons.
Knife and stick are easy enough to come by and easy enough to learn, not to mention practical. Why not look into getting instruction in them? Sensei Downey of Celbridge Kenpo is reputed to be an expert in both if any are interested.

I had a Heckler & Koch Gewerr 3 and was a pretty good shooter. But couldn't have it in my new appartment, as there's nowhere to safely store it.
