Sensei has set a rough date for the next grading. He's decided to hold it in January, probably somewhere around the middle of the month.
Students grading and the belt they are grading for are:Definites
Saoili: Orange
Thurifuge: Green
Possibles
Andreas: Yellow
M@lice: Yellow
JC: Yellow
Keith: Blue
Hefron: Blue
Death_Cherub: Purple
m0x1e: Don't ask! Did I forget anyone? The list is just off the top of my head and, as such, is by no means intended to be exhaustive. Feelings on this?

If anyone on the list doesn't have a copy of syllabus, pm me and I'll sort you out with a username and password - then you can login to the member section of the self defence website and get a copy there.

When is the next grading (after the one in January) - just a rough time idea, are we talking during the summer, or nearer to november/december?

Ukeis are always good...they tend to burst so regularly that it's handy to have a few spares on hand to replace them with.

| Ok, I'd like to express my objections on the choice of date, I would appreciate if you can pass them on to Sensei Downs Moxie. I have really been looking forward to doing my orange belt grading, but in the middle of January I am sitting some of my final exams, as in, these things matter for the rest of my life. So even if the grading is at the end of the month, I won't be able to give it the practice and devotion it deserves coming up to it. I would have preferred to have it earlier as was originally planned, but since that's probably not possible later would be better.

I'm not grading, but can see that it may cause a few problems at that date, not the least of which being the inability to practice coming up to the date, as the sports hall will be occupied (so classes won't be able to run).
I understand there's a desire to have everyone graded up to a standard, but maybe postponing it to the second or third week in February would guarantee a better turnout, and give people a chance to make sure they know everything.

Suru-Sensei had an hour-long discussion at me last night, stating that this year the gradings will be held at the end of the exams (last week of January/first week of February) and then again just before the real exam panic sets in (May sometime). This means that everyone will be expected to attend both gradings and pass them. This is coming from the founder of World Kobudo Ireland and, I very much get the impression, not a matter up for debate.
Sorry guys.

i'd say you'll be okay petals, you've been injured this year and that'll be taken into account so that you wont have to grade. so you can relax!
