Branded gear follwup - design

Ok, following on from the thread, since it seems that almost everyone that's voted and posted thinks getting some gear would be cool - based on some of the suggestions in the other thread, I'm gonna throw up some images of what they might look like. Some of these may change slightly (depends on what fonts are available for the embroidery for example) and I won't know that for definite until I get and look through the brochure.

There may or may not be subsidies, depending on club funds and the like, but gear can still be gotten - it just means you'll have to pay for it all yourselves <grin>. I've gotten some sample prices and they're not too expensive.

Getting hoodies and t-shirts seems to be a popular enough idea, so I reckon that's the thing to go with. So far I've got two designs for hoodies :

For the sake of comparison, I'm posting both ideas on the black background - colours can be figured out some other time.

I'm afraid I have to say that design two has caught my eye. I really like it. The colour scheme is brill also. Cool Kila, you rock. Smile

I know I'm not a member... even of your college... but I reckon if you took teh text from the first one and lashed it into the second you'd have a winner, or take the graphic from the second one and stick it in the first you'd have another winner...

you could even use one as a main piece graphic for the front /body/torso... and the other for an arm patch maybe...

Try smoothing design 2, the fan looks off. Have you tried Illustrator? Both designs would probably come out alot better in it.

Have retouched the design slightly, now it's:

(I've put it on the black background here because the hoodies will most likely be black and it's easier to see the images, and shrunk everything a bit to appease those on dialup)

The question is, for the wording, do we go with the same font I've used for the website/fairs day sign (Japanese Brush) or something more standard?

Should mention that I'm waiting to hear back if we can actually use that font, or if we have to go with something plainer.

I know I'm not even a member of the college but I thought the first design was nicer. It was simpler and had more ooomph to it if you know what i mean.

Design one has pretty much been written off due to the fact that more people liked desing two, and the logo on the back would have to be screen printed on, meaning it would crack and fade (and look rubbish) after a while.

Thats a point so many of my t-shirts with slogans have gone that way. Why does it have drogheda on it as well? Does the club train out with Steve too??

Run it by Sensei to see whether he'd rather "Self Defence Club" or "Ju-Jitsu" written under the Kobudo logo. but I really like the new one.
