Media Soc Classic Hollywood Bar-Ex on Tuesday 7th March!!!


Media Soc are delighted to announce that we will be hosting the Tuesday Bar-Ex during NUIM Rag Week, 2006. The theme for the night will be "Classical Hollywood", so we encourage you to wear fancy dress, anything at all from 1920's to the 1960's will do nicely. The Camenbert Quartet will be playing on the night as the main guests, and there will be a DJ in the bar, as well as some other events.

Tickets go on sale in the Arts Block on Tuesday 1st, Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd March, so if you want to have a fantastic night out during Rag Week, make it Tuesday night's Bar Ex, brought to you by Media Soc! It will be an experience to remember! And get your friends to go, too!

Radio Talk - Thursday 16th February


Joe AND Keith from Spin 103.8's Breakfast Express will be hosting a radio talk on Thursday 16th of February in (updated)John Hume Theatre 2 at 7:30pm.

Everybody should come along and bring your friends too. It will be great craic and will also be useful for those interested in pursuing any sort of career in the radio industry. There will also be some wine and finger food provided for everyone.

Jameson Dublin Film Festival - Media Soc Trip Wed 22nd Feb


We are organising a trip to the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival on Wednesday the 22nd of february. To suit the majority's convenience we have decided to go see "A Woman in Winter" showing at 6pm and "Johnny was", starring Vinnie Jones and Samantha Mumba, showing at 8.30pm.

The Jameson Film Festival is for all you cinema goers who are interested in the latest creative independent films and not just the cliched Hollywood blockbusters!. The showings are in Cineworld on Parnell Street, and a bus will be organised to bring us to and from the event.

If you are interested please let us know asap so we can get everything organsied with regards to numbers, bookings prices etc. Each showing costs around 8 euro. I then will get in contact with you about times and cost. We are also planning on going for a nice drink after the showings before returning home.

Website Update - 16/02/05


Much of the design of the website has now been finished. There are many links still broken but the basic design of the pages are finished, finally.

Some graphical changes still need to be sorted but as of today the site is finally usable by our members. We hope you enjoy using the new website and feel free to send your views and (constructive) comments to us at mediasoc@hotmail.com.
