The Maynooth Fencing Club was started in 1993 by Kevin Dunne who was president for the next three years. From 1996 to 1998 Nicola Tickner gained the presidentship. Unfortunately we do not know that much about "our" early years concerning members, competitions and results. We hope to find some articles of some events in which our "ancestors" participated.

In fall 1998 Paula O'Mahony was elected for president. She fulfilled her duties only for three months and she resigned in January 1999. She was replaced by John O'Byrne who remained in this office until June 1999. Since October 1999 a woman again, namely Lorraine Duffy tries to rule the wild horde of fencers in Maynooth and she gained a lot of success during her "reign".

In June 1999 Tony Quinn took over the task to teach fencing for this year. Tony Quinn was member of the Irish National Team and trains a lot of colleges and clubs all over Ireland, among which are DIT, Trinity College, and his own club.

A lot has changed since then, (an easy way of saying that we fogot about the last 5 years), with Richard Owens as our current trainer and Lorraine McGill as the current President.
