Original Fiction

by Bon

Sometimes, sometimes you just have an idea that is going around and around your brain. One that screams to be written and won't go away until it is. That's just when you want to get a pen and some paper and start writing. Original fiction can be the hardest to write as you have to put the characteristics in. You can't rely on the character development in your favourite show or book. I am proud of all my works and hence I am sharing them. Enjoy.

Dominion's Decree, 2005
This was written as part of the NaNoWriMo challenge. This is run every year in the month of November and the goal is to write 50,000+ words in 30 days. This was my submission this year. This was my first year taking part in the competition and I succeeded. The basic premise of this story is good vs evil and its effect on mortal lives.

Snapshots from a Fixer's Rise, 2004 - Present
As part of a three year long cyberpunk campaign, I played a character called Lex. It became a challenge to write a backstory for her. I had the basic outline but decided to use it as a writing project. Currently it stands at roughly 45,000+ words and is unfinished.

A Step Too Far, 2004
This is a stand alone piece set approximately four years after the end of Snapshots. Its December 2024 and Lex had had a very bad day. Wannabe solos treading on her turf make her wanna kick some ass but instead she goes walk about and ends up on her old turf and has a score to settle but cannot deal with emotional onslaught and falls back into old habits.

Truly, Madly, Deeply, 2006
This is a piece of original work based on a challenge request from lambach. The prompt for this was my default user icon on livejournal. The prompt was falling in love with someone when all you can see is their eyes. Unfortunately, this took a rather dark twist and turned into a nasty, nasty thing. It's a tale of obsession and love with dire consequences.

Dark Alleys, 2004
This is a piece of original work that hit on the way home from Dublin one day and just screamed at me to be written. I don't know where it came from or the inspiration behind it. It is dark and gritty and is paced oddly, almost staccatoed in rhythm.

Vicious Justice, 2004
Again, another dark and gothic piece of fiction with no explanations or apologies. I guess that this would be a karmic reward. I don't know why the spacing of the words is important, but that was the way that I wrote it down and it strangely worked.
