The login procedure will establish a connection between the computer you are currently sitting at, and the minds ma chine sitting in the computer science department in maynooth. Making a connection such as this requires at small program cal led putty. Putty can be downloaded from the MiNDS> website in our downloads section. It also comes free on the minds cd.

.
You should see a window appearing asking you for information.
Putty requires 2 pieces of information before you can connect to the computer, they are What computer (host name), and What Type of Connection (telnet, ssh ). > Type in login.minds.may.ie as the host name, and select the SSH box. Click Connect. Note: If you are using an earlier version of putty, you must do extra work. In the left Menu, select Connection, and SSH. The choose 2 as the preferred Protocol version.
Note, you might be asked if you want to store a key value. Select Yes, this means putty can remember the Minds com
puter from this point on.
If a big black screen appears with with Login: written on it , then all is going well!
Type your username followed by your password (bear in mind all passwords are case sensitive!)
If you get prompted for your password again, then it means your username and/or password are incorrect. If you see a Welcome Screen, then congratulations, you have logged into minds
